ALMOST SPRINGTIME

(Silke Hauck / Michael Bundt)

They say she’s better off without him
He’d caused her nothing else but pain
They say she’s living on illusions
They say that girl’s almost insane
But she doesn’t care what they think
She doesn’t care what they say
What do they know about her kinda love?
What do they know about love anyway?

She’s drawing the.curtains...She whispers his name
And she’s writing it down on the palm of her hand
Again and again

It’s the same old world that keeps on turning around
It’s the same old sun, rising up, going down
As her days go by without changes of tides
Almost springtime outside
But the winter holds on in her mind

They say her love’s self-sacrificing
It’s not a blessing that love makes blind
They say her eyes are closed to changes
They say her love destroyed her mind
But she doesn’t mind what they say
And in a pigheaded way
She keeps on waiting 24 hours a day
He’s due to return any day

She makes sure day by day that all is in place
That all is arranged, that nothing had changed
For the day he’ll come back again

It’s the same old world that keeps on turning around
It’s the same old sun, rising up, going down
As her days go by without changes of tides
Almost springtime outside
But the winter holds on in her mind
